President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conducted a comprehensive inspection of the completed residential buildings and community amenities at the Palayan City Township in Nueva Ecija on Thursday, April 23, 2026. This flagship housing initiative, a cornerstone of the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, represents a significant step forward in the administration's efforts to address the nation's housing needs.
Project Overview and Progress
The 23-hectare development, which broke ground in December 2022 under Marcos's oversight, has shown remarkable progress over three years. Located in Atate village, the site now features several fully completed buildings, with others in the final stages of construction. The project is designed as a vertical housing community that seamlessly integrates residential structures with open spaces and shared amenities, promoting a sustainable and livable environment.
Key Details and Capacity
Once fully completed, the Palayan City Township is projected to accommodate approximately 22,596 beneficiaries across 24 residential buildings. The condominium-type development has already begun welcoming residents, with several units occupied, marking the township's evolution into a thriving residential community. The project remains open to qualified applicants, including Palayan City residents and interested families from other areas.
Presidential Inspection and Engagement
During his visit, President Marcos was accompanied by Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, Palayan City Mayor Viandrel Cuevas, and other government officials. Marcos personally inspected housing units to assess the living spaces prepared for beneficiaries, ensuring they meet quality standards. He also toured key amenities such as the central park and clubhouse, emphasizing the importance of community infrastructure.
In a gesture of engagement, the President interacted with homeowners before departing, highlighting the human-centric approach of the initiative. Secretary Aliling underscored that the project's advancement reflects the administration's unwavering commitment to delivering not just housing units, but holistic, sustainable communities that enhance residents' quality of life.
Administrative Commitment and Future Implications
The Palayan City Township Project exemplifies the government's dedication to the 4PH Program's goals, aiming to provide affordable, well-planned housing solutions nationwide. As construction continues, this development serves as a model for future housing projects, balancing rapid delivery with long-term sustainability and community integration.
