NBI Tracks Senator Bato Dela Rosa's Location After Senate Custody Exit
NBI Tracks Senator Bato Dela Rosa's Location

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) continues its monitoring of Senator Bato Dela Rosa's whereabouts. Director Atty. Melvin Matibag confirmed that the bureau is tracking the senator's location after he left Senate custody. Matibag stated that this is part of the NBI's mandate as a law enforcement agency, and personnel are actively searching for the senator.

According to NBI Chief Matibag, the monitoring of Senator Bato's location is in line with an active arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). He shared that the NBI already has information on possible locations of Senator Bato Dela Rosa, but declined to disclose these details to the public as part of ongoing operations.

However, Matibag pointed to Senator Robin Padilla as primarily responsible for Senator Dela Rosa's location. Despite confirming that the NBI is searching for Senator Dela Rosa, Matibag refused to answer whether they would immediately arrest the senator. He said the discretion lies with the Inter-Agency Committee, and there is a process to follow regarding this matter.

It is recalled that Department of Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida ordered the arrest of the senator should he attempt to leave the country. However, it was clarified that there is no directive to order authorities to find his exact location, as they will await the Supreme Court's resolution on pending petitions.
