Major Drug Bust Nets P1.8 Million in Shabu

Authorities in Central Luzon scored a significant victory in the war against illegal drugs with a successful buy-bust operation in Nueva Ecija. The operation led to the arrest of a high-value individual and the confiscation of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.8 million.

The arrest took place on the morning of Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Barangay Calipahan, Talavera, Nueva Ecija. This coordinated effort demonstrates the continued vigilance of law enforcement agencies in the region.

Coordinated Police Operation Leads to Arrest

According to a report from the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3), the operation was a joint endeavor. Personnel from the Talavera Municipal Police's Special Drug Enforcement Team, the Police Intelligence Unit, and the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit worked together to execute the plan.

The teams moved into action at precisely 9:50 a.m. after their intelligence was validated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). An undercover police agent was able to conduct a transaction with the suspect, leading to his immediate arrest.

Evidence and Charges Filed

Following the arrest, police recovered substantial evidence from the suspect. The haul included approximately 270 grams of suspected shabu. At the standard Dangerous Drugs Board value, this quantity is estimated to be worth P1,836,000.

Officers also successfully retrieved the marked money used in the undercover transaction. The suspect, along with all the confiscated evidence, was taken to the Talavera Municipal Police Station for proper processing.

There, authorities conducted the mandatory documentation and inventory of the seized items in the presence of required witnesses. The police are now preparing to file appropriate criminal charges against the suspect under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of the PNP and PDEA to target high-value individuals within the drug trade, aiming to disrupt distribution networks in Central Luzon and beyond.
