PDEA Arrests High-Value Drug Suspect in Consolacion

In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 7 and the Consolacion Municipal Police Station apprehended a manicurist identified as a high-value target during a buy-bust operation. The arrest occurred on Friday afternoon, February 27, 2026, in Barangay Cansaga, Consolacion City, Cebu.

Details of the Arrest and Seizure

The suspect, known by the alias "Cindy," is a 33-year-old native of Barangay Maslog, Danao City. Authorities confiscated two packages of suspected shabu from her, weighing approximately 50 grams with an estimated street value of P340,000. In addition to the illegal drugs, law enforcement recovered the buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and the vehicle used for delivering the contraband.

Investigation and Background

According to PDEA 7 spokesperson Leia Alcantara, the suspect had been under surveillance for three weeks prior to the operation as part of a case buildup. Investigations revealed that Cindy was capable of selling up to 500 grams of shabu per week, highlighting her significant role in the local drug trade.

Further information from Alcantara indicated that the suspect's husband is currently imprisoned on similar drug-related charges, suggesting a pattern of involvement in illegal activities within the family. The suspect is set to face charges for drug trafficking, with legal proceedings expected to follow in the coming days.

This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by Philippine authorities to combat drug proliferation, particularly targeting high-value individuals who contribute to the widespread distribution of narcotics in the region.
