PNP to Deploy Free Ride Services Amid Transport Strike This Week
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is gearing up to provide complimentary transportation services for commuters who may be impacted by the scheduled transport strike set to occur this week. According to PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., he has directed all PNP offices to allocate their respective mobility assets to offer assistance to passengers starting from April 15 through April 17.
Enhanced Security Measures and Police Presence
In addition to organizing the free ride initiative, Chief Nartatez has mandated the implementation of stringent security protocols at the locations of the transport halt and any accompanying protest activities. This move aims to guarantee public order and peace amidst the ongoing demonstrations. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of maintaining high levels of police visibility throughout the duration of the events.
Commitment to Restraint and Public Safety
The PNP leadership has also instructed personnel to exercise maximum tolerance during the protests, ensuring that all actions are conducted with restraint to prevent escalation. This comprehensive approach underscores the PNP's dedication to safeguarding both commuter welfare and societal harmony during this period of potential disruption.
