PRO 7 Calls for Cooperation Ahead of ASEAN Summit Traffic Disruptions
PRO 7 Seeks Public Cooperation for ASEAN Summit

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 is calling for cooperation and understanding from the public regarding the anticipated heavy traffic and other inconveniences during the ASEAN Leaders Summit starting May 6, 2026.

Simulation Exercise Conducted

As part of the final preparations, PRO 7 launched a simultaneous simulation exercise in various locations in Cebu on Monday. The exercise was led by Undersecretary Nestor Sanares, Chairperson of the ASEAN Committee on Security, Peace and Order.

The goal of the exercise was to assess the police's readiness to respond to public safety incidents, strengthen emergency response operations, and ensure smooth coordination among government agencies for the security of delegates and dignitaries.

Public Reminded Not to Be Alarmed

Police Brigadier General Arnold Abad, acting director of PRO 7, reminded the public not to be alarmed. The increased presence of police on the streets is part of the ongoing training and strict monitoring.

The police also appealed for patience as some roads will be closed or access limited for the convoy of delegates. Tighter inspections will be implemented at checkpoints and strategic areas.

The police assured that despite strict security protocols, the safety of the public and foreign delegates remains their top priority.
