San Fernando City Council Conducts Public Hearing on Enhanced Free Movie Program for Senior Citizens and PWDs

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of San Fernando, Pampanga recently organized a significant public hearing to discuss a proposed ordinance designed to improve the free movie screening program for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs). This initiative aims to amend and enhance the existing program, which currently offers free movie screenings every Monday to these vulnerable sectors.

City Councilor Angelo Hizon, Jr., who serves as the Chairperson of the SP Committee on Social Welfare and Senior Citizens’ Affairs and is the author of the measure, led and facilitated the hearing. He was joined by Councilors Noel Tulabut and Jay Cuyugan, demonstrating a collaborative effort within the city council to address community needs.

The proposed ordinance seeks to make the privilege more accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the specific needs of senior citizens and PWDs. City officials emphasized that this move is expected to foster a more supportive environment for these groups, ensuring they can enjoy recreational activities without financial barriers.
