Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro clarified that the Department of National Defense (DND) is not monitoring any destabilization activities related to the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte. He also stated that there are no threats from active military personnel.
Military Remains Professional Amid Political Issues
According to the secretary, the military remains professional despite the ongoing political issues. He emphasized that the DND no longer has jurisdiction over retired soldiers. Teodoro further asserted that most retirees are not involved in anti-government activities and continue to support the DND's security initiatives.
Impeachment Articles to Be Transmitted to Senate
Meanwhile, the Articles of Impeachment are expected to be transmitted to the Senate this week for trial, following approval by a majority of congressmen last Monday.
