Lapu-Lapu City Hall has announced a significant shift in its project monitoring schedule, moving from quarterly to monthly meetings to expedite the implementation of various development projects. The change aims to enhance efficiency and improve public service delivery.
Mayor Announces New Schedule
In a statement, Mayor Ma. Cynthia “Cindi” King-Chan revealed that the city government has adopted the new schedule to accelerate ongoing projects and strengthen the management of government programs.
“I initiated the conduct of our Project Monitoring Committee meetings on a monthly basis instead of the usual quarterly schedule,” Chan explained.
“This allows us to closely monitor the progress of every infrastructure and development project, immediately address concerns, and ensure that programs funded by both the local and national government are delivered efficiently,” she added.
Focus on Transparency and Accountability
Chan emphasized that the move is intended to bolster transparency, accountability, and the timely execution of infrastructure and development projects funded by local and national government sources.
Meanwhile, Chan stated that ongoing government projects from 2023 to 2026 are being rigorously reviewed to ensure faster implementation and better public service for the city.
Meeting Details
Chan led the meeting with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the City Engineering Office, committee members, and other relevant offices to assess the status and updates of various projects.
Among the topics discussed were updates on the DILG SubayBayan portal and projects under the Local Development Fund and Local Government Support Fund.
“I reiterated my full support for the fast-tracking and completion of these projects to deliver quality public service,” Chan said, noting that each project will benefit the city’s residents.
