Davao de Oro to Host Bulawan Run 2026 as Part of Festival Celebrations
The provincial government of Davao de Oro is gearing up to stage the Bulawan Run: Dagan Para sa Kalamboan on March 1, 2026. This exciting event will take place at the Capitol Grounds in Nabunturan, serving as a key highlight of the province's 19th Bulawan Festival and 28th founding anniversary celebrations.
Promoting Health and Wellness Through Community Engagement
Provincial Sports Coordinator Kristine Anne Mabanglo emphasized that the fun run is designed to encourage health, wellness, and an active lifestyle among both residents and visitors. She extended a warm invitation to running enthusiasts and fitness advocates across the region to participate in this community-focused initiative.
The event offers three distinct categories to accommodate runners of all skill levels:
- 5-kilometer run
- 10-kilometer run
- 21-kilometer half marathon
Event Schedule and Registration Details
Participants are advised to assemble as early as 3 a.m. on the event day. The gun starts are scheduled as follows:
- 4 a.m. for the 21K half marathon
- 5 a.m. for the 10K run
- 5:30 a.m. for the 5K run
Registration fees have been set at P999 for both the 5K and 10K runs, while the 21K half-marathon costs P1,299. All registered runners will receive an official race singlet, race bib, medal, hydration support, and post-race provisions. Additionally, finishers of the 21K category will be awarded a special finisher shirt.
Race kits can be claimed on February 26 and 27 at the Provincial Capitol Lobby in Nabunturan. For convenience, online registration remains open through the official registration link or QR code posted on event materials. On-site registration is also available on the 4th floor of the Provincial Capitol.
Lucrative Cash Prizes for Top Performers
The province has announced attractive cash prizes for top finishers in all categories, with separate awards for male and female participants. The prize structure is as follows:
- 21K Event: First place - P12,000, Second place - P8,000, Third place - P5,000
- 10K Category: First place - P8,000, Second place - P6,000, Third place - P4,000
- 5K Category: First place - P5,000, Second place - P3,500, Third place - P2,500
Runners who place fourth to tenth in all categories will each receive P1,000, ensuring recognition for a broader range of participants.
This event represents a significant effort by the Davao de Oro provincial government to foster community spirit, promote physical fitness, and celebrate the province's rich cultural heritage through an engaging and inclusive sporting activity.
