Mandaue Ball Club (MBC) secured the championship in the Power 60 Friendship Cup senior citizens basketball tournament with a dominant 117-73 victory over Pardo Ball Club (PBC) in the finals held recently at the Pardo Sports Complex in Poblacion Pardo, Cebu City.
Undefeated Run
MBC completed an immaculate campaign, winning all eight games across the seven-team tournament without a single loss. From the elimination round onward, the team showcased superior skill and teamwork, never giving opponents a chance to recover.
In the championship game, MBC seized control early, building a 36-19 lead by the end of the first quarter. The team maintained relentless pressure throughout, extending their advantage and never allowing PBC to mount a comeback. The final score reflected MBC's complete dominance on both ends of the court.
Prizes and Awards
As champions, MBC received the championship trophy and a cash prize of PHP 10,000. PBC, as the second-place finisher, took home PHP 7,000 and a runner-up trophy.
In the battle for third place, Power Forty defeated Lagtang Basketball Gold (LBG) with a score of 70-60. Power Forty earned PHP 5,000 and a trophy, while LBG received PHP 3,000 and a trophy.
Commissioner Edwin Dejacto announced that the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP) award went to Blake Casals of MBC, who received PHP 1,000 and a trophy for his outstanding performance throughout the competition.

The tournament was organized to promote camaraderie and active lifestyle among senior citizens in the community. Poblacion Pardo Barangay Captain Danny Lim, who is also a member of the second-place PBC and one of the organizers, presented the championship trophy to MBC.
