The San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers will attempt to advance to the NBA conference finals as they face their respective opponents in Game 6 of the 2025-26 playoffs on Saturday morning, May 16, 2026 (Philippine time).
Spurs vs. Timberwolves
The Spurs travel to Minnesota for Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals, holding a 3-2 series lead. A victory would send them to the West finals against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, who swept the Los Angeles Lakers 4-0 in the conference semifinals.
San Antonio dominated Game 5 with a 126-97 win, led by French superstar Victor Wembanyama, who delivered a reverse dunk that highlighted their performance. Five other Spurs players also scored in double figures, providing crucial support.
However, if Timberwolves leader Anthony Edwards receives adequate backing, Minnesota could force a deciding Game 7.
Cavaliers vs. Pistons
In the East, the Cavaliers host the Detroit Pistons in Game 6 of their conference semifinals, also leading 3-2. A win would set up an Eastern Conference finals matchup with the New York Knicks, who eliminated the Philadelphia 76ers in a 4-0 sweep.
Cleveland is determined to close out the series, especially Donovan Mitchell, who averages a series-high 30.6 points. Mitchell has never reached the conference finals and is eager to break that barrier.
The Pistons, the East's No. 1 seed after the regular season, hope to force a Game 7 by giving their best effort on the road.
Both Spurs and Cavaliers aim to finish their semifinal missions now, as momentum could shift if the Timberwolves and Pistons manage to extend the series.
