The delegation, composed of dedicated student-athletes from various districts across Davao del Sur, launched an intensive training camp on February 9 at Sta. Cruz Elementary School. Coaches have confirmed that the camp will run until February 20, focusing heavily on conditioning, strategic planning, and discipline in preparation for the Davao Region Athletic Association Meet, scheduled from February 22 to 28 in Tagum City.
Substantial Financial Support from Provincial Government
Provincial officials have thrown their full support behind the preparation efforts with a substantial ₱9-million allocation. This funding, sourced from the 2026 Special Education Fund, is designed to cover a wide range of expenses, including transportation, meals from training through competition, uniforms, incentives for medalists and coaches, utilities, medicines, and other essential logistics. The Provincial Government of Davao del Sur emphasized that this investment aims to ensure athletes can concentrate solely on their performance without worrying about financial burdens.
To facilitate smooth operations, air-conditioned buses will be provided to transport teams, while medical supplies and staff will be on standby throughout both the training period and the competition week.
