The TNT Tropang 5G and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters will try to carve a 2-0 advantage as they face their respective opponents in Game 2 of the best-of-seven semifinals series in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Commissioner's Cup on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia.
The Tropang 5G will battle the Meralco Bolts in the main game after the Elasto Painters take on the Brgy. Ginebra Gin Kings in the first game starting at 5:15 p.m.
In Game 1 last Wednesday, both the Tropang 5G and Elasto Painters had tough paths before securing victories. TNT defeated the Bolts, 94-89, while Rain or Shine beat the Gin Kings, 115-111.
The Bolts, who defeated TNT, 110-106, in their elimination round encounter on April 7, continue to look for ways to contain the 7'3" import of TNT, Bol Bol, who exploded for 37 points in Game 1. Even without stopping Bol in Game 1, the Bolts still managed to put up a good fight overall. This means that if they can limit Bol even slightly, their chances of bouncing back will significantly increase.
In the other pairing, Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao said that heart and determination are still their tools in trying to beat the Gin Kings for the second straight time. However, Guiao admitted that it is difficult for them to beat the Gin Kings, who buried them by 24 points, 114-90, in their elimination round encounter on May 20.
