Multi-titled head coach Steve Kerr is staying with the Golden State Warriors after reports emerged of a two-year contract extension with the franchise.
According to information obtained, Kerr and the Warriors have reached an agreement and are only awaiting formal signing to finalize the deal.
In his 12 years at the helm of the Warriors, Kerr has won four championships and made six National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals appearances with his stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green—including five consecutive Finals appearances from 2015 to 2019.
This season, the Warriors were eliminated early and failed to make the playoffs for the second time in three years. They finished as the 10th seed in the Western Conference and were completely ousted by Phoenix in the play-in tournament.
