This marks Eala's first Women's Tennis Association (WTA) 500 event in London. The 37-year-old Zhang initially took control, posting a 2-0 lead early in the first set. However, Eala quickly regained command of the rallies and secured the set.
Eala continued her aggressive play, building a 3-1 lead in the second set. She did not allow Zhang any further threats, closing out the match decisively.
