The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 recently conducted the Saulog Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Ceremonial Graduation across various cities and municipalities in Central Visayas, marking another significant milestone for the government's flagship social protection program.
Held in areas including Balamban, the event gathered thousands of 4Ps beneficiaries from Bohol and Cebu who officially graduated after years of complying with program conditions and actively participating in health, education, and family development programs. During the ceremony, they proudly raised their Certificates of Recognition as a symbol of their transition toward self-sufficiency and a more empowered life.
According to DSWD 7, a total of 84,766 households have reached the level of self-sufficiency, while over 9,000 families have exited the program after having no more children under monitoring. The series of ceremonies was led by Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero, along with local government officials, partner agencies, and civil society organizations, demonstrating strong unity in supporting families on their journey to self-reliance.
In her message, Lucero emphasized that graduation is not the end of government support but the beginning of a new journey toward self-reliance. She encouraged beneficiaries to continue valuing education, health, and responsible parenting while becoming active partners in community development.
Local Government Units in the region also reaffirmed their continued support through post-graduation programs such as livelihood initiatives, skills training, and sustained access to basic services. The Saulog graduation showcases the ongoing success of 4Ps in helping Filipino families build a strong, sustainable, and independent future.
