This strategic distribution is a key component of the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (Leed) project, which operates under the National Livestock Program of the DA.
The comprehensive support package is designed to create a lasting impact and includes a substantial set of resources:
- 21 Carabaos in total
- Essential animal feeds and biologics
- Various agricultural and marine supplies
- A forage chopper to aid in feed preparation
Goals and Long-Term Impact
This carabao multiplier farm initiative is strategically designed to empower small scale farmers by providing them with the necessary livestock modules to build a sustainable economic enterprise. The DA-Zamboanga Peninsula emphasized that the project's core objectives are multi-faceted.
It aims to improve buffalo production by enhancing the genetic quality of the native buffalo breeds. Furthermore, the project seeks to increase the overall livestock inventory in the region while strongly promoting long-term sustainability for the local farming community. This intervention is expected to significantly strengthen the agricultural value chain and provide a stable source of income for the beneficiaries.
