DMCI Mining Corp. Posts Record Nickel Ore Output in 2025
DMCI Mining Corp., a key subsidiary of DMCI Holdings, has announced a significant milestone with record-breaking nickel ore production in 2025. This achievement comes as the company leverages enhanced operations and new mining initiatives to capitalize on favorable market conditions.
Surge in Production and Shipments
The company reported that nickel ore production increased by an impressive 33 percent year on year, reaching two million wet metric tons (WMT). This growth was primarily driven by higher output from its Zambales operations and the commencement of initial mining activities at the Long Point site. In tandem with production gains, shipments also saw a robust rise of 31 percent, totaling 1.9 million WMT, which marks the second-highest shipment level in the company's history.
Supportive Market Conditions
Adding to the positive outlook, average benchmark Philippine FOB laterite nickel prices for a 1.5 percent grade experienced a substantial increase of 26 percent throughout the year. This price surge has bolstered earnings prospects for DMCI Mining, reflecting improving industry conditions that are benefiting mining companies across the Philippines.
Commitment to Sustainable Practices
Beyond production metrics, DMCI Mining emphasized its dedication to responsible mining. The company noted that rehabilitation work at its Berong Nickel site in Palawan has exceeded targets under its approved mine rehabilitation plan. This progress underscores the group's ongoing focus on sustainable and environmentally conscious mining practices, aligning with global standards for the industry.
