The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 has distributed Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) to 4,424 public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers in Central Visayas during a two-day payout activity held on May 13 to 14, 2026.
P22.12 Million Released
According to data from DSWD 7, a total of P22.12 million was released for qualified beneficiaries, achieving a 91.25 percent completion rate. The payout was conducted in coordination with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7, which provided the validated list of qualified beneficiaries to ensure the smooth and effective distribution of financial aid.
Cash Relief Assistance Program
The CRA is a financial assistance program that provides P5,000 cash aid to public utility vehicle and tricycle drivers affected by rising fuel prices and economic challenges under the agency's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
Among the provinces in the region, Cebu had the highest number of beneficiaries with 4,606 target recipients. Of that number, 4,197 PUJ drivers received the aid while 409 have yet to be paid. In Bohol, 227 out of 242 target beneficiaries successfully received the cash aid, while 15 have yet to be paid, achieving a 93.80 percent completion rate.
