DTI Inaugurates 2026 National Trade Fair to Boost Sustainable Filipino MSMEs

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has officially opened the 2026 DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair at SM Megamall's Megatrade Halls 1 to 3 on Level 5, Mega B. This five-day event, running from February 18 to 22, is designed to welcome consumers, buyers, and entrepreneurs to explore a wide array of sustainable and locally made products from across the Philippines.

Government Support for MSMEs and Sustainability

Leading the inauguration ceremony were Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque and Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista. Both officials emphasized the government's strong commitment to strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promoting innovation that is firmly anchored on sustainability principles.

This year's trade fair features an impressive total of 335 exhibitors from various regions and industries across the country. The event presents a curated selection of eco-friendly and design-driven products, including:

  • Furniture crafted from sustainable materials
  • Textiles and fashion items with innovative designs
  • Handicrafts that celebrate traditional techniques
  • Food products sourced from local producers

Exhibitors are demonstrating the creative use of recyclable and reusable materials transformed into functional pieces for homes, offices, and commercial spaces. This showcases how sustainability can effectively intersect with practicality and modern design aesthetics.

Beyond Product Displays: Workshops and Cultural Performances

Visitors to the trade fair can participate in daily craft workshops, product demonstrations, and cultural performances that celebrate Filipino creativity and craftsmanship. These activities provide hands-on experiences and deeper insights into the skills behind the products.

Richard Daenos, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism - Region III, expressed strong support for local enterprises and sustainability-driven initiatives, noting their importance for regional economic development.
