The Department of Agriculture (DA) in Central Luzon has launched a year-long initiative to directly connect consumers with local farmers and producers. The agency is inviting the public to visit and support the Regular Kadiwa Pop-up Store, which will be held every Monday throughout 2026.
Bringing Fresh Produce Closer to Consumers
This ongoing project is designed to make quality, safe, and reasonably priced farm goods more accessible to residents of the region. By establishing a regular schedule, the DA aims to create a reliable marketplace that benefits both consumers seeking fresh items and farmers looking for a stable outlet for their harvests. The initiative is a strategic move to strengthen the agricultural foundation of Central Luzon by shortening the supply chain.
Location and Product Offerings
The pop-up store will be conveniently set up at the Covered Court of the DA – Region 3 and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region III. This venue is located inside the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Shoppers can expect a diverse array of fresh, locally-sourced products. The available goods will include:
- Lowland and highland vegetables
- Fresh leafy greens
- A variety of seasonal fruits
- Authentic Pampanga delicacies
- Fresh corn and binatog
Government's Push for Food Security and Affordability
According to the DA, this weekly Kadiwa store is a concrete part of the national government's broader efforts to address key issues in the food sector. The program has three primary objectives: to help reduce food prices for consumers, to ensure food safety standards are met, and to provide easier access to fresh and affordable local produce. By facilitating this direct link between producers and buyers, the government hopes to cushion the impact of market price fluctuations and promote food security within the region.
The regular Monday schedule starting from January 2026 provides a consistent opportunity for the community to buy directly from the source, ensuring freshness while supporting the local agricultural economy.
