Man Arrested for Stealing Gadgets in Cebu City

A 27-year-old man was arrested by the Parian Police Station after allegedly stealing gadgets from a residence in Sikatuna, Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City, around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Suspect Identified

The suspect, identified only as alias Felipe, is unemployed and resides in Happy Valley, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

According to the investigation, the homeowner caught Felipe taking a laptop worth P70,000 and a cellphone worth P15,000 through the window.

Attempted Escape

The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by bystanders who witnessed the incident.

Felipe claimed he committed the theft due to poverty and hunger. He stated that his family, including his partner and child, had rejected him, forcing him to steal just to eat.

This is not Felipe's first time in jail; he was previously imprisoned for illegal gambling.
