The Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) has released its annual business registration data, highlighting significant entrepreneurial activity across Central Luzon. In Pampanga, the agency recorded a total of 32,535 business name (BN) registrations from January to December 2025. This figure underscores the province's vibrant economic landscape, even as it reflects a slight decline compared to the previous year's numbers.

Regional Overview of Business Registrations

Across the entire Central Luzon region, DTI-3 registered 140,076 business names in 2025. This represents a decrease of 1.92 percent from the 2024 total, indicating a minor dip in new entrepreneurial ventures. However, the data reveals varied trends at the provincial level, with some areas experiencing growth while others saw marginal declines.

Provincial Breakdown and Performance

Among the provinces, Aurora showed a positive trend with 3,053 registrations, marking an increase of 3.35 percent. Bataan recorded 10,658 registrations, up by 6.06 percent, and Zambales posted 12,826 registrations, reflecting a 6.03 percent year-on-year rise. In contrast, Pampanga, along with Bulacan (47,593 registrations), Nueva Ecija (20,336 registrations), and Tarlac (13,075 registrations), registered slight declines. This mixed performance highlights the dynamic nature of business activities across different localities in the region.

Surge in Business Renewals Signals MSME Resilience

A notable highlight from the report is the significant increase in business name renewals within Region 3. Renewals jumped by 11.73 percent, from 15,388 in 2024 to 17,193 in 2025. This uptick suggests improved business continuity and sustainability among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Luzon.

DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon commented on this trend, stating, The increase in business renewals shows that many enterprises are sustaining operations. Her remarks emphasize the resilience of local businesses amid economic fluctuations and their commitment to long-term growth.

Future Initiatives and Support for Entrepreneurs

Looking ahead, DTI-3 has pledged to continue its efforts to make business registration more accessible and supportive. The agency aims to foster an environment conducive to long-term enterprise growth in Central Luzon. By streamlining processes and providing necessary resources, DTI-3 seeks to empower entrepreneurs and bolster the region's economic development.

In summary, while Pampanga's business registrations saw a slight decrease, the overall data from DTI-3 reveals a robust entrepreneurial spirit across Central Luzon. The surge in renewals points to a stable MSME sector, and ongoing initiatives promise to further enhance business opportunities in the region.
