San Fernando Launches P20 Rice Program to Aid Residents
San Fernando Launches P20 Rice for All Program

The City Government of San Fernando has officially launched the Kadiwa ng Pangulo Rice for All Program, also known as "P20 Benteng Bigas Meron Na!" during a ceremony held at Heroes Hall. The initiative is implemented through the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office and aims to provide residents with affordable and high-quality rice at just ₱20 per kilogram.

Program Objectives

This program seeks to alleviate the financial burden on Filipino families struggling with the rising costs of basic commodities. By offering rice at a subsidized price, the local government hopes to ensure that every household has access to a staple food item without straining their budgets.

Support for Local Farmers

During the launch event, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon set up a KADIWA Pop-Up Store at the venue. This store offered low-cost vegetables and fruits sourced directly from local farmers, providing them with a direct market for their produce and reducing intermediaries.

City officials emphasized that the initiative is a collaborative effort to enhance food security, ensure a stable supply of affordable food, and support both consumers and the agricultural sector. The program is expected to run regularly, with possible expansions based on demand and supply availability.

Residents expressed optimism about the program, noting that the affordable rice will significantly help their daily expenses. The local government encourages all qualified beneficiaries to take advantage of the program and help spread the word to ensure maximum reach and impact.
