Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown proudly recognized its outstanding leaders and team members for their 2025 achievements, embodying hospitality, innovation, and service excellence. Tata Reyes, Area Director of People Management and Development for Megaworld Hotels and Resorts Mactan properties, stated: "These recognitions are not just individual milestones—they reflect the collective passion and dedication that define our culture. We are proud to celebrate our awardees who continue to inspire and elevate the standards of hospitality."

Titanium Ambassador of the Year: Joalyne Inot

Joalyne Inot was named Titanium Ambassador of the Year in 2025 for her exceptional guest satisfaction. As an Ambassador for Megaworld Hotels and Resorts' VIP Program, she demonstrates attentiveness and a guest-centric approach. "Every guest I am able to assist down to the littlest details reminds me that small gestures of care can create unforgettable experiences which is what we are really striving for," Inot shared.

Sales and Marketing Achievements

The Sales and Marketing department excelled with multiple awards. Grethel Polloso, Director of Sales and Marketing, achieved a triple crown: Overall Sales Performer for Managed Hotels, Top Sales Performer for Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, and Sales and Marketing Leader of the Year. "Success in sales is not just about numbers—it's about building trust and lasting relationships. I dedicate this recognition to our guests and partners who inspire us to go further," Polloso said.

Maia Gomez, Area Marketing Communications Manager for MHR's Mactan properties and former PR & Marketing Manager for Savoy Hotel Mactan Newtown, was named Marketing Manager of the Year for championing sustainability. Her project Adopt-a-Reef (2024) was nominated as Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Cebu Tourism and Hospitality Awards in 2025.

Joaquin "Chino" Quintana, Assistant Director for Sales, secured 2nd Place for Top Sales Performer. Sales Account Manager Kheana Llaban earned a nomination for the Sampaguita Binhi Award for future leadership potential. Savoy Hotel won Best Sales and Marketing Team across all Megaworld Hotels and Resorts properties during the 2025 Sales and Marketing Conference.

Heart of the House: Cresta Oba

Cost Control Supervisor Cresta Oba won Heart of the House Employee in the 2025 Cebu Tourism and Hospitality Awards for her behind-the-scenes dedication in the Finance Department. "Working behind the scenes means ensuring everything runs smoothly. I'm grateful that my efforts contribute to the joy our guests feel," she shared.

Culinary Excellence

The Food and Beverage team earned multiple awards at the 2025 Cebu Goes Culinary event. They won a Gold Award in Klasika/Moderna Sutukil, a category celebrating Cebu's iconic Sutukil (Sugba, Tuwa, Kilaw) with modern interpretation. Silver Awards were earned in Mocktail Mixing and Pantry Chef (Vegetable & Fruit Kinilaw). Bronze Awards included the Wedding Cake category, Creative Cake Decoration diplomas, and themed dishes using regional ingredient bagoong and reimagining Cebu's Pungko-Pungko.

Great Place to Work

HR Manager Hanna Tiongson secured HR Leader of the Year in the 28th Mabuhay Awards in 2025. The hotel has been recognized as a Great Place To Work for three consecutive years. "Hospitality begins with people. This award is a testament to the culture of care we've built together, where every team member feels valued," Tiongson said, adding that the General Manager's approach fosters a "Work hard, play hard, no drama" culture.

Visionary Leadership

General Manager Josef Victor Chiongbian was awarded General Manager of the Year for visionary leadership and operational excellence. "This award is a reflection of the incredible team I work with every day. Together, we've proven that hospitality thrives when passion meets purpose," Chiongbian shared.
