A 28-year-old virtual assistant is now behind bars after being caught in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Dalaguete Police Station in Barangay Consolacion, Dalaguete, early Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The police identified the suspect as “Del,” also known as “Melissa Jane,” a member of the LGBTQ community and a resident of the said area.
According to Police Major Vincent Zozobrado, chief of the Dalaguete Police Station, the operation took place around 1:45 a.m. after they received information about the suspect’s illegal activities.
The police monitored that the suspect was the main supplier of illegal drugs to loiterers in the barangay and even in neighboring areas.
A poseur-buyer purchased one pack of shabu worth P500, which led to the suspect’s arrest. During the search, authorities recovered five small packs and one medium-sized pack of shabu from the suspect’s possession.
The drugs were estimated to weigh 1.2 grams and have a standard drug price of P8,160 based on the current valuation.
The suspect is currently detained at the Dalaguete Police Station while formal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared.
