The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has successfully transferred a substantial sum of P102.4 million to the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr), marking a significant milestone in its enforcement efforts. This revenue was generated through a series of transparent public auctions involving luxury vehicles that were confiscated from the Discaya family and their associated companies.

Seizure and Legal Basis

The vehicles were seized due to violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), a key legislation governing import regulations. The BOC emphasized that this action underscores its commitment to upholding customs laws and ensuring compliance among high-profile entities.

The confiscated fleet comprised 13 high-value models, showcasing a range of premium automotive brands. The list includes:

Auction Process and Transparency

To maximize recovery for the government, the BOC conducted multiple public auctions, ensuring full transparency in the disposal process. The first auction on November 20, 2025, saw the sale of a 2022 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG for ₱15,611,710, a 2019 Mercedes-Benz G500 Brabus for ₱15,500,000, and a 2021 Lincoln Navigator L for ₱7,100,000, totaling ₱38,211,710.

Subsequent Auction Rounds

The second auction on December 5, 2025, featured the 2022 Toyota Tundra sold for ₱3,480,000 and the 2023 Toyota Sequoia for ₱6,000,000. In the third auction on February 11, 2026, the 2023 Rolls-Royce Cullinan fetched an impressive ₱29,026,000.

The fourth auction on February 25, 2026, concluded with the sale of a 2024 Lincoln Navigator for ₱6,950,000, a 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV for ₱6,623,000, and a 2022 Bentley Bentayga for ₱12,178,174.15, adding ₱25,751,174.15 to the proceeds.

Revenue Summary and Future Plans

Overall, nine of the 13 seized vehicles have been successfully auctioned, generating total proceeds of ₱102,468,884.15. The BOC confirmed that the remaining four vehicles—the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali, 2021 Cadillac Escalade, 2022 Maserati Levante Modena, and 2022 GMC Yukon XL Denali—will be offered in upcoming public auctions to further boost government revenue.

This initiative highlights the BOC's proactive approach in leveraging asset forfeiture to contribute to national funds, while reinforcing the importance of adherence to customs regulations.
