Landbank, SSS Launch Digital Micro-Loan Program for 2026 Rollout
Landbank, SSS Launch Fully Digital Loan Program

The Social Security System (SSS) and the Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) have officially launched a new digital micro-loan initiative designed to provide faster and more accessible credit to SSS members.

A Partnership Strengthened by Digital Innovation

The two institutions solidified their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on December 11, 2025, at the SSS Main Office in Quezon City. The signing ceremony was led by Landbank President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz and SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes de Claro. They were joined by former Landbank Executive Vice President Leila C. Martin and SSS Executive Vice President Elvira Alcantara-Resare.

President Ortiz highlighted the alignment between the two organizations, stating that their shared move towards expanding their mandates has deepened the relationship. She emphasized that the new product is a "game-changer" that will leverage Landbank's digital solutions to make credit facilities more accessible and efficient for members.

How the SSS Loan Lite Program Works

At the core of the program is Landbank's fully digital platform. The SSS Loan Lite Program will allow members to apply for micro-loans directly through the Landbank Mobile Banking App, anytime and anywhere. The platform is designed for speed and security, featuring several key processes:

  • Automated eligibility checks for instant application assessment.
  • Streamlined digital loan processing that cuts through traditional paperwork.
  • Fast crediting of approved loan proceeds directly to the member's Landbank account, even outside standard banking hours.

All necessary loan documents, including terms and conditions, will be available digitally. Repayments can be made conveniently through Automatic Debit Arrangements or other payment channels, with the entire system backed by robust audit and data privacy controls.

Inclusive Access for All Members

Understanding that not all SSS members may have an existing Landbank account, the program includes a seamless solution. The Mobile Banking App will allow users to open an account and complete their loan application in one integrated digital experience. This removes a significant barrier to entry and underscores the program's goal of true financial inclusion.

For oversight and transparency, Landbank will provide SSS with regular electronic reports for monitoring and audit purposes.

Target Rollout and Shared Vision

The SSS Loan Lite Program is scheduled for rollout in the first half of 2026. This initiative reinforces the shared commitment of both Landbank and SSS to advance public service through meaningful digital innovations. By leveraging technology, they aim to provide easy access to short-term financial assistance, empowering Filipinos and driving the nation's financial inclusion agenda forward.
