The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) has begun implementing digital fund transfers for the distribution of cash gifts to senior citizens nationwide, expediting the release of benefits under the Expanded Centenarians Act.
NCSC Chairperson Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez announced on Monday, June 22, 2026, that qualified beneficiaries can now receive their cash gifts through direct deposits to their bank accounts, GCash virtual wallets, or Palawan remittance services. “Hindi na iyong isa-isang binibigyan ang ating grantees ng cash gift,” Gutierrez said during the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing.
Digital Payout System Under RA 11982
The digital payout system covers benefits under Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarians Act, which provides a PHP10,000 cash gift to senior citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95. Centenarians continue to receive PHP100,000 from the government.
Gutierrez described the new system as faster, more convenient, and secure against fraud and misuse. The NCSC’s 16 regional offices will conduct digital literacy training and coordinate with the Office for the Senior Citizens Affairs nationwide.
