Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Discounts Top P1 Billion

In a significant milestone for Filipino workers, the state-run Pag-IBIG Fund has announced that its loyalty card program has granted over P1 billion in discounts to members, as the initiative continues to expand its reach across the nation. The cumulative value of discounts has now reached P1.005 billion, generated from an impressive 30.66 million discounted transactions, showcasing the program's growing impact on everyday savings.

Program Growth and Member Adoption

The Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card and its enhanced version, the Loyalty Card Plus, have seen widespread adoption, with total card issuances climbing to 15.17 million. This reflects a strong uptake among Filipino workers who are increasingly leveraging the benefits offered by the program. Launched in 2014, the loyalty card was initially designed to provide members with access to discounts and special offers from partner merchants.

Evolution and Enhanced Features

In 2019, the agency introduced the Pag-Ibig Loyalty Card Plus, which integrated cash card functionalities through partnerships with Asia United Bank and UnionBank of the Philippines. This upgrade allows members to receive loan proceeds and access basic banking services, transforming the card into a versatile financial tool. Over the years, it has evolved into one of Pag-IBIG Fund's key member benefits, helping workers save on essential expenses such as food, medicine, transportation, and housing-related purchases.

He emphasized that it delivers practical financial benefits to Filipino workers, particularly during times of global uncertainty. "Especially at a time of global uncertainty, when every peso counts, this program helps our members make the most of their hard-earned income," Aliling stated, underscoring the program's role in enhancing financial resilience.

The program's network has expanded to include 507 partner establishments nationwide, categorized as follows:

  • 114 partners in food, restaurants, and groceries

Geographically, the distribution includes 162 partners in the National Capital Region, 155 in Luzon, 55 in the Visayas, and 85 in Mindanao, ensuring broad accessibility for members across the Philippines.

Future Developments and Digital Expansion

Looking ahead, Pag-IBIG Fund is set to launch the Pag-Ibig Loyalty Card Plus Digital within the year, as announced by chief executive officer Marilene Acosta. This digital version will complement the existing physical card, aiming to make services and privileges more accessible, secure, and convenient for members. Acosta noted that this initiative aligns with the administration's push for greater financial inclusion, expanding access to financial services and everyday savings opportunities for Filipino workers.

The program's continued growth and innovation demonstrate Pag-IBIG Fund's commitment to supporting the financial well-being of its members through strategic partnerships and technological advancements.
