ABS-CBN has issued a statement in response to published reports of an alleged complaint filed by board director Federico “Piki” Lopez’s lawyers with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Board Commendations and No Recorded Objections
The Board of Directors of ABS-CBN has consistently commended the ABS-CBN team for all their efforts and sacrifices to keep the company afloat. According to the statement, there have been no recorded objections to these commendations.
Call for Constructive Dialogue
Instead of publicly calling out certain employees, the company urged Lopez, as a Director, to engage the Board in constructive discussion. The statement emphasized that this public discussion is unfair to the employees and uncalled for.
Focus on Recovery
ABS-CBN’s entire workforce continues to focus on returning the company to solid footing. The company described these public accusations as painful distractions that take time and resources away from what is truly important. ABS-CBN expressed hope that stakeholders will choose to support its mission of public service rather than add further obstacles to recovery.
Family Dispute Clarification
The majority of the Lopez family has already stated that the issues in their family dispute do not involve ABS-CBN. The company appealed, “Huwag na po sanang idamay ang ABS-CBN sa isang away na hindi naman amin.”
