Massive P700 Million Perfume Haul Seized in Valenzuela Warehouse Operation
In a significant crackdown on suspected illicit trade, authorities have confiscated approximately P700 million worth of imported perfumes believed to have entered the country without proper certification. The raid, conducted on Friday night, April 10, 2026, targeted a warehouse in Valenzuela City, as confirmed by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Coordinated Operation Targets Suspected Illegal Importation
PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated in a release that the operation, which commenced around 8:30 PM, focused on facilities belonging to Nicewheel Rubber Corporation and Haiwan Import/Export Corporation. These are located on Bonifacio Street in Barangay East Canumay. The action was spearheaded by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–Northern District Field Unit, with support from multiple agencies including the Bureau of Customs, Department of Trade and Industry, Northern Police District, Philippine Coast Guard, and local barangay officials.
Police reports indicate that the raid was initiated based on intelligence from the Office of the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government regarding alleged illegal importation activities. This led to surveillance operations and coordination with the Bureau of Customs, culminating in the issuance of a Letter of Authority signed by Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno.
Suspects Identified as Investigation Continues
Authorities have identified one suspect as a Chinese national known only by the alias "Allen", along with an unidentified accomplice. Both individuals remain at large as of the latest updates. General Nartatez emphasized that this seizure represents a major blow against organized illegal trading, as it disrupts syndicates that harm the economy and local industries. The PNP continues to investigate the full scope of the operation and pursue leads to apprehend those involved.
