Inflation Crisis: A Call for Lasting Solutions in the Philippines
Inflation Crisis: A Call for Lasting Solutions in PH

Every trip we made, whether to school, the market, or the office, and every jeepney ride reminded us of one thing: inflation is making life harder for us Filipinos. Prices of basic needs such as food, transportation, and fuel continue to rise, making everyday survival increasingly difficult.

Today, it is evident that due to inflation, the value of money diminishes over time. What used to be enough for a day’s expenses is no longer sufficient. Because of these changes, people are forced to budget more carefully, taking into account every peso they spend, as everything has become significantly more expensive.

Impact of Oil Price Hikes

One major factor contributing to this problem is the continuous increase in oil prices. When fuel prices rise, transportation costs also increase, which in turn affects the prices of goods and services. Jeepney drivers struggle to earn enough to make a living, employees find it increasingly difficult to stretch their salaries, commuters face higher fares, and students encounter rising daily expenses. All of these factors collectively add to the burden on every Filipino.

Government Efforts Fall Short

Although the government has made efforts to control inflation, these measures have not been sufficient. Inflation is not a simple issue; it is a complex phenomenon that requires long-term and sustainable solutions that would genuinely benefit the Filipino people. Inflation affects everyone, but it hits hardest those with limited incomes. For many Filipinos, surviving each day is a challenge because every move requires money.

What we need now is not a temporary fix but a lasting solution that prioritizes the welfare and well-being of the people. This is a call to our leaders to take strong and effective action. It is time for real change, towards a better Philippines for every Filipino.
