BIR Implements Swift Process for PNOC's Emergency Fuel Imports Amid Crisis
BIR Fast-Tracks PNOC Emergency Fuel Imports

In response to the declaration of a State of National Energy Emergency under Executive Order No. 110, 2026, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has taken immediate action to secure the country's energy supply. Through its Large Taxpayers Service (LTS), the BIR issued a special permit that allows PNOC Exploration Corporation (PNOC-EC) to carry out emergency importation of petroleum products.

Rapid Processing and Coordination

The BIR did not waste any time in processing the necessary documents and requirements, working closely with PNOC-EC to facilitate the swift entry of fuel shipments. Additionally, the agency is already preparing for the expedited processing of future fuel imports as part of the government's aggressive response to maintain energy security.

Government Commitment to Energy Stability

According to BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza, the Bureau will continue to collaborate with PNOC to ensure the rapid approval of all required documents for current and future emergency fuel importations. He emphasized that the BIR is ready and determined to support the whole-of-government response to prevent any disruption in energy supply, which is critical for the nation's livelihood, industry, food, and transportation.
