Fuel Prices Rise: PHP0.30/Liter Hike for Gasoline, PHP0.20 for Diesel
Oil Firms Announce Fuel Price Hike Effective Jan 13

Motorists in the Philippines are set to face higher expenses at the pump this week as major oil companies announced a fresh round of fuel price increases.

Price Adjustments Announced for Gasoline and Diesel

In separate advisories released on Monday, January 12, 2026, industry players Seaoil and PTT Philippines confirmed a price hike effective the following day. The adjustments will take place at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

The increase will see gasoline prices go up by PHP0.30 per liter. For diesel, the price will rise by PHP0.20 per liter. Additionally, Seaoil stated that the price of its kerosene product would also increase by PHP0.30 per liter simultaneously.

A Reversal and a Continuing Trend

This latest movement represents a shift in direction for gasoline prices, which had experienced a PHP0.10 per liter decrease just last week. For diesel, however, the increase marks the third consecutive week of rising prices.

Authorities have pointed to ongoing geopolitical developments overseas as a contributing factor to the sustained upward pressure on fuel costs, particularly for diesel. This comes despite market analysts anticipating a potential oversupply situation in Asia that could lead to lower prices.

Ongoing Market Risks and Outlook

Prior to this announcement, energy officials had flagged that geopolitical concerns remain a significant upside risk for global oil markets. These external factors continue to influence local pump prices, creating volatility for consumers and businesses alike.

The repeated weekly increases in diesel prices are of particular concern for the transport and logistics sectors, as diesel is a primary fuel for public utility vehicles and freight trucks. The cumulative effect of these hikes can significantly impact operational costs and the prices of goods and services.

Motorists are advised to plan their fuel purchases accordingly as the new prices take effect Tuesday morning across stations of the participating companies.
