The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has officially launched a new model for its Negosyo Centers, marking a significant upgrade aimed at empowering the backbone of the Philippine economy.
A Modern Hub for Filipino Entrepreneurs
Gone are the days of navigating dilapidated facilities for business needs. On January 11, 2026, the DTI unveiled its flagship model Negosyo Center, a sleek, one-stop shop designed to provide faster, smarter, and more efficient government services to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This initiative is a direct reflection of the President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. administration's commitment to digitizing public services and strengthening the business landscape.
The center prioritizes ease of doing business by listening to entrepreneurs and providing rapid response mechanisms to accelerate their growth. It is powered by digitalization funds from programs like Tatak Pinoy and BSMED.
Comprehensive Services for Business Growth
This high-capacity hub is built to deliver seamless support. Key services integrated into the model include:
- Streamlined business name registration.
- Efficient processing for Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) certificates.
- Advanced advisory and specialized training programs.
- Innovation support and digital integration assistance.
The launch is critically important because MSMEs constitute 99.6% of all Philippine businesses and generate over 60% of the country's jobs. Empowering them is essential for national economic progress.
Nationwide Rollout and Leadership Vision
The inauguration kicks off a broader wave of modernization for the DTI. The agency plans to roll out these upgraded Negosyo Centers across the nation, starting with a target of completing two upgraded centers per region within the year. There are roughly 1,400 Negosyo Centers nationwide.
DTI Secretary Cristina Roque had an inspiring message for investors and entrepreneurs who will use the new facilities. "The Marcos Jr. administration is here to help you as best and as aggressive as we can," she stated. "We will make sure that your businesses will thrive and will grow here in the DTI and in the Marcos administration."
She reminded everyone that many large corporations began as MSMEs, urging entrepreneurs not to lose hope. "Let’s take advantage of what the government has to offer. If we have a dream, let’s go for the dream," Secretary Roque concluded.
