Motorists in Cebu can now experience smoother journeys with the reopening of the Cambogaong Bridge in Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City. The bridge, which had been closed for over six months, officially resumed operations to all types of vehicles on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Mayor Ouano Highlights Traffic Relief Efforts

Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo "Jonkie" Ouano emphasized the importance of the bridge's reopening in addressing local traffic issues. Following numerous complaints during the six to seven-month closure for repairs, Mayor Ouano stated, "At least it will somehow ease congestion along our main thoroughfare in Cambogaong, can pass through again and be normalized." The bridge serves as a vital route for large vehicles traveling to and from northern Cebu, making its functionality crucial for regional mobility.
