The Provincial Government of Davao del Sur has officially handed over a revitalized community gymnasium to the residents of Barangay Sinawilan in Digos City. The formal turnover ceremony for the newly repaired and improved facility was held on December 2, 2025.
A Multi-Million Peso Investment for Community Welfare
With an investment of nearly ₱3 million, the infrastructure project focused on comprehensive repairs and upgrades to transform the gym into a safer and more functional venue. The ceremony was spearheaded by Governor Yvonne Roña Cagas and Vice Governor Marc Cagas, who presented the symbolic key to barangay officials, marking the transfer of responsibility for the community asset.
A New Hub for Sinawilan's Activities
The upgraded multi-purpose building is now poised to become the central hub for a wide range of local events. It is designed to host sports competitions, community assemblies, school programs, and various gatherings that encourage citizen participation and strengthen social bonds. Board Member Rey Ayo was also present at the event, endorsing the province's sustained drive to enhance public infrastructure as a cornerstone of community development.
In her address, Governor Cagas expressed her joy, stating in the local language, "Nalipay mi nga na-turn over na ang bag-ong improved gym, usa ka safe ug functional space para sa inyong mga kalihokan." This highlights the provincial government's dedication to delivering quality facilities that directly benefit its constituents.
