Porac Mayor Checks New Infrastructure in Barangay Salu

Porac Mayor Jaime "Jing" Capil recently conducted a site visit to assess two significant infrastructure projects in Barangay Salu, underscoring his administration's focus on rural development.

Mayor's On-Site Inspection of Key Projects

On January 4, 2026, Mayor Capil personally inspected the newly completed farm-to-market road and reviewed the plans for a proposed covered court in the barangay. The mayor stated that the purpose of his visit was to evaluate the progress and ensure the projects' suitability for the residents' needs.

He was accompanied during the inspection by Barangay Captain Noel Sarmiento and several members of the barangay council, highlighting a collaborative effort between local government units.

Dual Impact on Livelihood and Community Life

The newly constructed farm-to-market road is a critical piece of infrastructure designed to improve access and support the efficient movement of agricultural products from local farms to wider markets. This project is expected to directly boost the livelihood of farmers in the area by reducing transportation costs and time.

Meanwhile, the proposed covered court is envisioned to become a central venue for various community activities. From local sports events and social gatherings to town assemblies, this facility aims to foster a stronger sense of community and provide a dedicated space for public use.

A Commitment to Holistic Barangay Development

Mayor Capil emphasized that infrastructure development remains a cornerstone of his governance program. He specifically pointed to the importance of enhancing community facilities, improving mobility, and creating livelihood opportunities across all barangays in Porac.

The simultaneous development of both a practical economic artery like the farm-to-market road and a social hub like the covered court reflects a comprehensive approach to uplifting rural communities, addressing both economic and social needs.
