New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson is wasting no time in preparing for the upcoming season. Despite being in the NBA offseason, the reigning Finals MVP has been spotted in the gym, ramping up his training regimen as the team gears up to defend its championship title in the 2026-2027 season, which tips off in October.
Ending a 53-Year Drought
Brunson recently led the Knicks to their first NBA championship in 53 years, defeating the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The victory marked a historic milestone for the franchise, which had not won a title since 1973.
Finals MVP Performance
Brunson was named Finals MVP after averaging 32.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game over the five-game series. His leadership and clutch performances were instrumental in securing the championship for New York.
According to a social media post, Brunson has already returned to the gym to begin his offseason workouts. The all-around point guard is focused on maintaining his elite conditioning and sharpening his skills ahead of the title defense.
