The General Alliance of Workers Association (Gawa) has strongly criticized the National Government's decision to suspend the public utility vehicle (PUV) fare hike that was scheduled for March 19, 2026. Gawa Secretary General Wennie Sancho asserted that this suspension is a calculated political move designed to divert attention from the urgent issue of wage increases for workers across the nation.
