Mawab Municipal Government Officially Launches SPES 2026 for Student Summer Employment
The Municipal Government of Mawab in Davao de Oro has officially launched the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) 2026, providing qualified students with a valuable opportunity to earn income and gain practical work experience during the upcoming summer break. This initiative aims to support the youth, particularly those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as they prepare for the new academic year.
Mayor Apit Encourages Student Participation and Highlights Program Benefits
Mawab Mayor Myrill L. Apit has strongly encouraged students to take advantage of the SPES program, reaffirming the local government's commitment to youth empowerment. "This program is our way of helping Mawabenyos prepare for the incoming school year," Mayor Apit stated. "We want to help students earn while learning and gaining work experience. We are committed to giving them opportunities that will empower and prepare them for the future." She further urged the youth to help spread information about the program to ensure more deserving students can benefit.
Program Details and Eligibility Requirements for SPES 2026
The SPES program is scheduled to run from April 20 to June 2, 2026, offering temporary employment to eligible students. To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be Senior High School students or incoming college students.
- Be bona fide residents of Mawab.
- Have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 80 with no failing grades.
- Not be recipients of any government scholarship.
- Belong to an indigent family with a combined annual net income not exceeding ₱189,128.00.
Application Process and Submission Guidelines
Interested students must submit a complete set of requirements to apply for the SPES 2026 program. The necessary documents include:
- A photocopy of Form 138/Report Card.
- PSA Birth Certificate.
- Updated résumé.
- Certificate of Indigency.
- Completed SPES application form.
- Application letter addressed to Mayor Myrill L. Apit.
All documents should be placed in a long brown envelope labeled with the applicant's name and contact number and submitted to the Mayor's Office Information Desk. The Local Government Unit (LGU) reminds applicants that incomplete submissions will not be entertained, emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation.
