PRO-NIR Initiates First Batch Recruitment for Non-Uniformed Personnel in Negros Island Region
The Police Regional Office in Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has officially commenced the first batch recruitment process for Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP), marking a significant step in enhancing its operational support structure. This initiative aims to fill 40 vacant positions with qualified individuals who will contribute to administrative and technical functions within the police force.
Interview Phase Underway for 120 Applicants Across Multiple Offices
According to Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, chief of the PRO-NIR Public Information Office, a total of 120 applicants are currently undergoing the interview phase, competing for the available NUP slots. The distribution of these positions includes:
- 10 positions from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo)
- 22 positions from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo)
- 5 positions from the Siquijor Police Provincial Office (SPPO)
- 3 positions from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO)
The initial round of interviews, which involved applicants from Nocppo and BCPO, was conducted on February 6, 2026, at the PRO-NIR Conference Room located in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

Malong highlighted that this interview stage represents a critical component of the selection process, designed to evaluate the competencies, qualifications, and overall suitability of candidates for various roles.
