A massive P5.1-billion golf and residential estate is officially set to rise at New Clark City, marking a significant leap for the Philippines' sports and tourism infrastructure. This landmark development, a partnership between the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and leading South Korean firms, promises to generate substantial economic benefits for the region.
Major Partnership and Project Details
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority has finalized agreements with South Korea's premier real estate investment manager, Korea Real Estate Investment & Trust (KOREIT) Asset Management, and Sky Blue New Clark City Golf & Resort Corp.. KOREIT will spearhead the development through its Philippine subsidiaries, Eagle-K GC Corp. and Eagle-K RV Corp., which will fully develop and manage the sprawling 150-hectare estate.
The ambitious project will feature an 18-hole championship golf course and clubhouse spanning approximately 77 hectares. An additional 9-hole extension will cover 52 hectares, complemented by various supporting facilities. The remaining land will be dedicated to residential villas and related amenities, creating a comprehensive lifestyle destination. The target for the golf course's commercial operations is the first quarter of 2026.
Economic Boost and Job Creation
This development is a major economic driver for Central Luzon. It is projected to create 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, providing a significant boost to employment in Tarlac and surrounding areas. The influx of activity is expected to support local businesses, enhance the tourism landscape, and stimulate regional growth.
BCDA President Jake Bingcang emphasized the project's broader impact. He stated that KOREIT's entry reflects a strong vote of confidence from international institutional investors in New Clark City's long-term development plan. "This strengthens our investment pipeline and supports our goal of building competitive, sustainable growth centers," Bingcang said.
Positioning New Clark City as a Premier Destination
Beyond the fairways and residential lots, this project is a strategic move to establish New Clark City as a world-class hub for sports and lifestyle. It is anticipated to attract a steady stream of domestic and international visitors, further cementing the area's reputation.
President Bingcang highlighted the project's transformative nature, noting, "This project goes beyond building new facilities. It creates jobs, opens opportunities for local communities, and supports regional growth. It is another step in making New Clark City a world-class, sustainable district." The P5.1-billion investment is a clear signal of the area's rising potential and a catalyst for future development.
