Robinsons Retail Acquires Premiumbikes for P146M, Enters Motorcycle Market
RRHI Completes P146M Premiumbikes Acquisition

Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI) has officially entered the motorcycle retail industry in the Philippines with the completion of a major acquisition. The company announced it has successfully purchased 100 percent of Premiumbikes Corp., a leading player in the market.

Details of the Acquisition Deal

The transaction was finalized on December 1, 2025, following the necessary approval from the Philippine Competition Commission. RRHI executed the deal through its wholly owned subsidiary, Robinson’s Supermarket Corporation. The acquisition price was set at approximately P146 million, which translates to 1.0 times the book value of Premiumbikes. This valuation was confirmed after an independent third-party fairness review.

Premiumbikes is a significant entity in the local motorcycle scene, operating a network of 214 stores across the country. Under the ownership of RRHI director Lance Gokongwei, the company generated substantial sales, reporting P4.17 billion in revenue for the year 2024.

Strategic Move for Revenue Diversification

This strategic purchase is a calculated move by RRHI to broaden its business portfolio. The company stated that the acquisition is aimed at diversifying its revenue streams and expanding its footprint in what it identifies as profitable retail segments. By entering the fast-growing motorcycle retail market, RRHI positions itself to capture a share of this dynamic sector.

Implications for the Philippine Retail Landscape

The entry of a retail giant like RRHI into the motorcycle space is expected to intensify competition and potentially reshape the market. It represents a significant diversification beyond RRHI's traditional supermarket and department store holdings. This move underscores the company's confidence in the continued growth and profitability of the motorcycle industry in the Philippines, leveraging Premiumbikes' established store network and strong sales performance.
