The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental has named FDC Misamis Power Corporation (FDC Misamis) its leading real property taxpayer for the year 2025. The company's substantial contribution exceeded one hundred million pesos, reinforcing its pivotal role in the province's fiscal health and development initiatives.
A Legacy of Fiscal Responsibility
This is not the first time FDC Misamis has received this prestigious recognition. The company previously held the title of the province's number one real property taxpayer from 2018 through 2021. This latest award underscores a consistent and long-standing commitment to supporting local governance through timely and complete tax payments.
Official records show that for Calendar Year 2025, FDC Misamis remitted a total of ₱213,357,097.20 in real property taxes to the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate. From this amount, the share allocated to the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental reached ₱106,469,159.39 by the end of the third quarter. These funds are directly channeled into financing essential provincial programs, public services, and critical infrastructure projects.
Recognition During a Double Celebration
The award was presented during a significant dual celebration: the 96th founding anniversary of Misamis Oriental and the opening of the 13th Kuyamis Festival. The ceremony featured key figures including FDC Misamis President and CEO Juan Eugenio Roxas, Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy, and Board Members Princess Emano and Jabi Bernaldez.
Governor Uy welcomed the accolade, highlighting the indispensable role of responsible corporate citizens. "Companies that consistently and faithfully pay their taxes play a vital role in strengthening our capacity to deliver services and implement programs for our people," Governor Uy stated. She added, "We value partners like FDC Misamis who share the province’s commitment to accountability and development."
More Than an Obligation: A Commitment to Nation-Building
In response, FDC Misamis President and CEO Juan Eugenio L. Roxas expressed that the recognition is both an honor and a renewed responsibility. "For us, paying taxes faithfully and on time is more than a legal obligation but part of our commitment to nation-building and to the communities that host our operations," Roxas explained.
He further emphasized that the award serves as motivation for the company to enhance its services. "This award encourages us to do more and do better, whether in maintaining operational excellence, supporting our host communities, or ensuring that we provide reliable and cost-effective electricity to Mindanao," Roxas said.
Beyond its significant financial contributions, FDC Misamis reaffirmed its role as a dedicated partner in community development. The company operates the Filinvest Group's flagship 405-megawatt baseload power plant within the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate, a facility crucial for stabilizing Mindanao's energy supply. The company views its mission as extending beyond power generation, actively supporting long-term economic growth and energy security in the region.
As Misamis Oriental progresses under its current leadership, FDC Misamis has assured the provincial government of its continued partnership, anchored on the principles of responsible corporate citizenship, sustained development, and dependable service to the people of Mindanao.
