Mactan-Cebu International Airport (DPC) has unveiled a series of newly renovated facilities as it gears up to host the upcoming 48th ASEAN Leaders' Summit. Airport officials have highlighted significant upgrades, including enhanced VIP lounges, improved airside markings, and expanded aircraft parking areas designed to accommodate visiting dignitaries and delegates.

Media Tour Reveals Ongoing Preparations

During a media tour on Monday, April 20, 2026, ongoing work was observed at the Terminal 2 VIP Lounge and the newly refurbished General Aviation Terminal Building, which involved a P30 million investment. These improvements are part of a comprehensive effort to ensure the airport meets international standards for the high-profile event.

Julius Neri Jr., chief executive officer and general manager of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority, provided insights during a press briefing. He confirmed that major preparations have been completed, with finishing touches such as furniture and appliance deliveries still in progress. "So far, we are on time. We still have about two weeks. Everything has been programmed, so hopefully all our suppliers will be able to deliver," Neri stated, expressing confidence in meeting the deadline.
