The Municipality of Maragusan in Davao de Oro recently witnessed an extraordinary celebration as it marked its 48th Founding Anniversary with vibrant festivities and the official introduction of its new tourism identity.

New Tourism Brand Unveiled

Thousands of enthusiastic residents filled the Municipal Cultural Center on November 25 to participate in the anniversary events. The celebration reached a significant milestone with the official launch of Maragusan's fresh tourism campaign: "Experience Fun in Maragusan!"

This new branding initiative aims to showcase the town's abundant natural attractions, rich cultural heritage, and growing potential as a must-visit destination in the region.

Cultural Competition Highlights

The Indak-Hudyaka sa P'yagsawitan Competition emerged as one of the main attractions during the 30th P'yagsawitan Festival. Multiple schools participated with colorful and dynamic cultural performances that beautifully reflected Maragusan's unique identity and traditions.

The atmosphere became even more electrifying when First District Representative Maricar Zamora-Mabanglo made a surprise announcement that brought cheers from the crowd. The congresswoman declared an additional ₱50,000 cash prize for all participating groups, ensuring that every team received recognition and reward for their efforts.

Participants expressed genuine appreciation for the congresswoman's generous gesture, highlighting how it boosted morale and recognized their hard work in preserving local culture.

In her address to the gathered community, Cong. Maricar reaffirmed her strong support for Maragusan's ongoing development.
