Metro Clark Forges Unified Tourism Strategy with LGUs and CDC
In a significant move to boost regional appeal, local government units and the Clark Development Corporation, operating through the Metro Clark Advisory Council, have reached a consensus to consolidate branding, promotions, and events. This initiative aims to position Metro Clark as a single, cohesive destination for both domestic and international tourists, enhancing its market presence.
Coordination for a Shared Vision
CDC President and Chief Executive Officer Agnes Devanadera emphasized the critical need for coordination among various stakeholders to realize this ambitious vision. She stated, "Metro Clark must be presented as one destination, one identity. Before we sell to foreign markets, we should maximize our roadshows." Devanadera urged LGUs to prepare new attractions, update tourism materials, and improve accessibility in anticipation of nationwide promotional tours, underscoring the unified effort to highlight diverse tourism spots across the Metro Clark area.
Showcasing Regional Attractions
The strategy spotlights a rich tapestry of destinations:
- In Mabalacat City, the Clark Freeport serves as an anchor, featuring aviation history, shopping, and resorts.
- Bamban, Tarlac, offers heritage and eco-tourism with sites like the WWII Museum, Death March Marker, and Balacbac Nature Spring.
- Capas, Tarlac, is noted for the Capas National Shrine, while Porac, Pampanga, boasts natural wonders such as Miyamit Falls and Tutulari Avatar Gorge.
- The Binulu Festival, an annual food event celebrating indigenous Aeta cooking traditions, adds adventure and nature elements.
- Angeles City contributes heritage, culture, and leisure with landmarks including Holy Rosary Parish Church, Museo Ning Angeles, Museum of Philippine Social History, and Puning Hot Spring.
Strong Tourism Performance and Security Focus
According to the CDC Tourism Promotions Division, Metro Clark recorded impressive figures in 2025, with 32.6 million visitor arrivals and ₱43.47 billion in receipts, largely driven by robust MICE events. During the meeting, peace and order were also discussed, with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III reporting a decrease in drug-affected barangays. However, the agency called for enhanced monitoring and aftercare systems. MCAC members stressed that security is essential to sustain investor confidence and tourism growth, positioning Metro Clark's unified strategy as a "competitive edge in the regional market" aimed at improving visitor arrivals and stability.
